AV-Clean
AV-Clean or AV Clean is in the lists of Korean-made rogue ant-virus program showing up and infecting a number of computers world-wide. With its foreign languages, most users will not be able to detect what this program was all about. AV-Clean will just pop-up on infected computers without users intervention and manual installation. This can penetrate a computer if an infected executable file was downloaded from a peer-to-peer network connection. When inside the computer, alterations will be made to the system to justify its presence as a dominant program. Antivirus installed will be disabled and Windows functions will be rendered useless including registry editor, task manager, control panel and so on. Internet browser will be modified to set the default home page to unwanted web site that promotes another fake anti-virus program.
Removing AV-Clean will not be easy, since we mentioned that most of the required Windows functions were deactivated. Add/Remove programs is also useless because no entry of AV-Clean was made in an attempt to make it stay inside the computer until the full version was obtained by its victim. Only chance to get rid of this malware is by scanning a computer with powerful anti-malware application designed to combat rogue programs.
