What is Cyber Security Virus?

Cyber Security is another malware that commonly obtained by visiting website running malicious scripts to download and install a program on visitors computer. At first, Cyber Security virus will exhibit alarming messages to users telling that computer is infected and this program must be downloaded. Thinking that it was beneficial to them, user may be attracted to download the program without any doubts that it is indeed a threat that should be avoided.

Cyber Security virus comes with another rogue software called Cyber Protection Center. Both shares the same goal of playing tricks on computer users just to push for the activation of the registered program. Purchasing it will not gain any advantage on users end. In fact, it will not also remove Cyber Security threats and viruses it detected. Computers will continue to suffer as long as the fake program stays on computer. It will only take a good anti-malware program to remove unwanted elements on computer.

What are the Symptoms of Cyber Security Infection?

It will modify Windows Registry and add the following entries:

  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run “tsc.exe”
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run “csc.exe”
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Cyber Security
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run\wow64main.exe

The threat will drop the following malicious files:

  • %Program Files%\CS\tsc.exe
  • %Program Files%\CS\system.dat
  • csc.exe
  • winsource.dll
  • Help.lnk
  • Registration.lnk
  • Cyber Security.lnk

How to Remove Cyber Security Virus Manually

1. Restart your computer in SafeMode
- After Power-On the computer, just before Windows start, press F8
- From the selections, Select SafeMode

2. Remove Registry entries that the threat added. You MUST BACKUP YOUR REGISTRY FIRST.
- Click Start > Run
- Type in the field, regedit
- Navigate and look for the registry entries mentioned above and delete if necessary

3. Delete malicious files that the threat added:
- Base on the given location above, browse and delete the file
- If no location is given, click Start>Search> and search for the file.
- If cannot be deleted, press Ctrl+Alt+Del to access Task Manager, see if the file is running in the process. If it is, select the file and click End Process. Perform file delete again.

4. Scan computer with Antivirus Program
- Update antivirus program
- Scan computer and delete all detected threats.
